Surgeon General’s Report on Addiction

no-image-360-x-360-sgr-digital-ad-bOn Thursday, November 17, 2016, the Surgeon General released the first ever report on addiction entitled “Facing Addiction in America: Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health.” In this landmark report the Surgeon General urges a change in the culture surrounding addiction. Addiction has historically been seen as a moral failing; he suggests that we look at addiction for what it is, a treatable, chronic disease of the brain.
